Meet Chris Cranston,
PT
Chris Cranston
is a licensed physical therapist whose lifelong love for animals has
driven her to apply her skills and knowledge to animal
rehabilitation in the Boston area. In addition to
operating Cranston Pet Rehabilitation, Chris volunteers and works
part-time at Windhover Veterinary Center.
She is
currently fulfilling the requirements for Certification
as a Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner and will sit for the
certification exam in June 2004. Chris has a Masters of Physical
Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the
University of
Iowa.
Chris has 13
years of experience in human physical therapy including
hospital-based rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedics, and sports
medicine. Prior to moving to the Boston area, she was manager
of the Sports Medicine Department at
Wardenburg
Health
Center at the
University of
Colorado -
Boulder. Chris also enjoys
teaching and was a member of the clinical faculty in the Department
of Rehabilitation Medicine, School of
Medicine, University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
She dedicates
her spare time to animal welfare organizations including the Animal
Rescue League of Boston and Greyhound Friends. Chris, an animal
lover her whole life, had many "pets" growing up in rural
Iowa. These ranged from
turtles, ducks, salamanders, and hermit crabs to the more
traditional dogs, cats, and rabbits. She understands the owner-pet
bond and does everything in her power to foster that relationship in
her practice.
